Data Analyst, Marketing job description

UNICEF USA is seeking a dynamic and data-driven Marketing Data Analyst to join the Marketing Communications Center of Excellence (MarComms COE). This role reports to the Director, Marketing Strategy & Analytics and combines the analytical rigor of a brand analyst with the strategic vision of a brand strategist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analysis, marketing, and brand strategy, with a passion for driving impactful Brand initiatives. This role will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to inform and optimize our Brand efforts, ensuring they are effective, audience-centric, and aligned with our organizational goals.

Responsibilities

Data Collection & Analysis

  • Gather data from various sources, including market research, supporter surveys (Suzy, Qualtrics), and third- party data (Harris Poll)
  • Utilize data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, PowerBI) to analyze and interpret data
  • Conduct segmentation analysis to understand different supporter groups and tailor branding efforts accordingly

Brand Performance Measurement

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) Brand Momentum, Brand Consideration, Brand Quality, and Brand Familiarity
  • Design and conduct/facilitate supporter surveys, A/B testing, and other methods to evaluate the effectiveness of different marketing approaches

Supporter & Market Insights

  • Analyze supporter behavior and preferences to identify trends and opportunities
  • Conduct competitive analysis to understand the position and strategies of key competitors
  • Translate supporter insights into actionable Brand strategies and initiatives

Brand Strategy Development

  • Ensure the COE’s efforts to develop and refine brand strategies are based on data-driven insights
  • Support the development of Brand positioning, messaging, and overall strategy

Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare detailed reports and dashboard to communicate findings and actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Present data-driven recommendations to the MarComms, Advocacy, Philanthropy, Direct Response/Performance, and Executive teams
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive branding efforts.

Optimization & Innovation

  • Continuously monitor and optimize Brand strategies based on performance data
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in marketing analytics, audience insights, and brand strategy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Data Science, or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years of experience in brand analysis, marketing data analysis, or brand strategy.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Google Analytics, Excel, PowerBI, SQL)
  • Strong analytical and strategic-thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to translate complex data insights into strategic Brand strategy recommendations
  • Ability to understand the audience and adapt insights accordingly
  • Proficiency in understanding and navigating data models and their components/relationships
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and intuitively, with minimal supervision
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Salary: The estimated salary range for this role is $73,750 - 90,000.

The midpoint for this salary range is $90,000. Actual pay will vary based on varying factors, including but not limited to relevant experience.
