Job Description & Responsibilities
We're seeking a talented Financial Data Analyst to become a vital part of our dynamic finance team. In this role, you'll be pivotal in ensuring the accuracy of our pricing structures and financial data. Your contributions go beyond number-crunching; you'll be a key player in supporting essential financial functions such as accounting and financial planning and analysis (FP&A). Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with our sales and operational data teams, guiding our growth with your insights and expertise.
If you're someone with 4-6 years of experience in diving deep into financial data, crafting insightful reports, and adeptly managing data repositories, you're exactly who we're seeking. This will be a hybrid role, located in commutable distance to our NYC office for weekly lunches, collaboration, and teamwork.
In this role you will…
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization
- Lead and participate in cross-functional projects improving pricing and revenue processes, including process optimization, system enhancements, and data quality initiatives
- Collaborate with the operational data team to ensure accurate and consistent data collection and storage processes
- Collaborate with the data team to improve data integrity around pricing, including identifying and resolving discrepancies and inconsistencies
- Support pricing strategies by providing data-driven recommendations based on market analysis and financial insights
- Streamline and improve the billing process to ensure accuracy and efficiency
- Work closely with the sales team to understand market dynamics, customer needs, and competitive positioning
- Assist in maintaining data integrity and accuracy within financial systems and databases
- Develop and maintain reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights to key stakeholders
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and support to finance leadership and other stakeholders on pricing and financial related matters
Requirements
The background we’re looking for…
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in financial data analysis and reporting
- Proficiency in organizing and storing data, preferably with experience in SQL, Excel, and/or other data management tools
- Experience with data manipulation, including cleaning, transforming, and organizing data from various sources
- Familiar with statistical techniques and tools to analyze large datasets, identify patterns, and derive insights
- Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and FP&A functions
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
- Ability to effectively collaborate with all levels of the organization, including technical staff, non-technical staff, and business stakeholders
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, or other programming languages commonly used for data analysis is desirable but not required
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Finance Technology, Accounting, Economics, or related field; Certification such as CFA, MBA, or similar is desirable but not required
- Experience in Healthcare, Health Tech or Start-Ups is a plus

The provided range reflects our US target salary range for this full-time position, which is part of our broader total compensation package, including stock options, comprehensive benefits, and incentive pay applicable to eligible roles. Individual pay within the range will vary based on a variety of factors like role-related experience and education, internal pay equity, and other relevant business factors. At Pelago, we are committed to an equitable and fair pay philosophy and review total compensation for our employees at least twice a year.
Pay Range
$115,000 — $160,000 USD
