Job Description & Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled Business & Data Analyst to join our Chicago office in our Supply Chain organization. This person will be responsible for collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and presenting data to influence business decision-making. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and frequently engage with senior leadership to deliver dashboards and reports. The Business & Data analyst will concentrate on enabling swift decision-making through insightful analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Collect and verify extensive data sets from multiple sources.
- Facilitate an in-depth intake process for carefully gathering and analyzing stakeholder requirements and data requests.
- Interpret data to identify trends and patterns that support business goals.
- Analyze data using statistical methods to derive insights and make predictions.
- Build reports and dashboards that are easy to understand and interpret.
- Communicate data findings effectively with various types of audiences.
- Build data-driven solutions that can help influence decision making processes.
- Engage in data governance initiatives aimed at upholding data standards.
- Find opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data analytics and ML/AI.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Position does not provide sponsorship*
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence or a related field.
- 4 to 6 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence Engineer, or similar role.
- Proficiency in SQL.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, Looker, or Qlik.
- Proficiency in Python and hands-on experience with Data Science libraries (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, Mathplotlib, etc.)
- Knowledge of statistics.
- Knowledge of data architecture, data warehousing and ETL pipelines.
- Excellent data storytelling and data communication skills in English.
- Ability to write technical documentation with data requirements and metrics relevant to projects’ objectives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, showcasing innovation.
- Leadership skills to successfully drive initiatives and projects.
- Ability to work independently.
- Knowledge in agile methodologies with strong strategic planning and prioritization abilities.
- Excellent collaboration skills.
Nice to have:
- Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science, machine learning, artificial intelligence, or a related field.
- Experience in ML techniques (e.g., regressions, decision trees, ensemble algorithms, neural networks, time series analytics, clustering, NLP, etc.).
- Familiarity with AI libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
- Knowledge of Finance and Supply Chain data and processes.
- Project Management experience.
What we offer
Compensation Range:
$85,500—$120,200 USD

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.
Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
