Job Description & Responsibilities
This position supports the Academic Affairs division by overseeing internal and external reporting, including mandated state and federal reporting, and responding to requests from Academic Affairs leadership, faculty, and staff. This position also serves on the Assessment Team and supports the academic assessment process, including program review.
Duties Include But Are Not Limited To
- Utilizing and adapting existing computer programs and business intelligence tools to extract, compile, summarize, and analyze data
- Supporting the academic assessment process
- Participating in the program/unit review process
- Creating new computer programs as needed to facilitate data collection and analysis
- Preparing data-informed presentations
- Compiling documentation
- Facilitating survey administration and analysis
- Performing data collection and reporting in the LMS
- Maintaining records and files
Requirements
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to relocate to meet this requirement.

Required Education
associate’s degree
Required Experience
Minimum of 1 year of related experience is required, including statistical research and data extraction and analysis, and creating reports and presentations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to extract, merge, and transform data from a variety of databases into formats needed for analysis and reporting
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analysis and methodologies
- Ability to design and implement online surveys
- Mastery of business intelligence tools, including Tableau, Argos, etc.
- Ability to understand and develop SQL queries
- Ability to consult with non-researchers to define research problems
- Ability to present and explain research and data findings to non-researchers
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships throughout the College
- Experience translating complex analytical findings into clear summaries for many different audiences
- Ability to work with, and understand, complex datasets – including protocols for optimizing data hygiene and working with sensitive data
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and timelines
- Ability to use descriptive and inferential statistics to analyze data using tools such as SPSS , SAS , Excel, R, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data analysis in a higher education setting
- Experience collecting data in a Learning Management System
- Experience with Ellucian Banner or a similar ERP / SIS system
- Experience with assessment, including program review, in an educational setting
What we offer
Starting salary range $54,028- $70,237
This is a full-time, non-exempt staff position and includes a comprehensive benefits package offering medical, dental and vision coverage; generous paid time off; tuition assistance; and retirement savings.This position will require work performed regularly on campus.
