Data Analyst, Commercial job description

Every day, we rise to the challenge to make a difference and here’s how the Global Commercial Data Analyst - Data Governance role will make an impact:

  • Work with IT, data stewards and business stakeholders to ensure that data governance and quality policies and procedures are established and followed.
  • Collaborate with IT for the implementation of a data catalog, data dictionary and data glossary across the global commercial organization.
  • Ensure that the data catalog, data dictionary, and data glossary are accurate, up-to-date, and consistent, and comply with data governance policies and standards.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement data quality controls and data validation checks in data integration processes, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data pipelines.
  • Collaborate with data owners, data stewards, and business users to resolve data quality problems, including data validation, data cleansing, and data enrichment activities to enable an accurate, complete, timely and consistent data environment.
  • Provide data quality training and guidance to data users and stakeholders to promote data quality awareness and adherence to data quality standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to data governance, data management, and data quality, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Data Analyst, Commercial job requirements

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in designing, defining and maintaining data catalogs, data dictionaries, and data glossaries from a business perspective. However, a combination of experience and/or education will be taken into consideration.
  • Strong understanding of business metadata, data definitions, and data lineage concepts.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure Suite, including Azure Data Factory and Azure Machine Learning.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in SQL, Python, and other data processing tools and languages.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with large and complex datasets.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify and resolve data challenges.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English is required.
