Job Description & Responsibilities
Our Civilian and IT Business Unit serves numerous customers with diverse missions. This position supports our US Postal Client where you will be challenged and be allowed to grow while delivering to the customer. We have a history of growing and promoting our people on existing contracts and even moving to new contracts.
What is the position?
As a Data Analyst for the US Postal Service, in Memphis TN, you will deal with an enterprise big data and analytics platform that utilizes emerging technology to ingest data in real-time at extreme volumes and high velocity; Support data mining, data analysis, and data visualization.
What will I get to do?
- Versatile data analyst - able to support data analysis needs in a software development lifecycle and in a business support capacity to find data insights to solve a business problem
- In a software development lifecycle - Provide inputs into data arch design, analyze data outputs to validate data quality and communicate gaps to the development team; Validate SIT and CAT results to ensure product meets acceptance criteria; Support production data validation and investigations;
- In a business support role - Triage and investigate user inquiries; query and analyze data to identify business insights; Create data visualizations and PowerPoint decks to communicate insights to client management/leadership; Develop canned data visualizations using Qlik
Requirements
What qualifications do I need?
- US Citizen able to pass a background investigation and a drug screen.
- Able to work onsite in Memphis during training and attend Office meetings as needed.
- Educational requiement of a Bachelor Degree or HS Diploma with an additional 5+ years of experience
- 2-5 years of experience
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience with Data analytics
- SQL or other structured query languages
- Good Communications skills (both verbal & written) - ability to work and communicate with all levels in team structure
- Team player with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and effectively manage time.
What additional characteristics will help me thrive?
- Data Visualization, Qlik
- Experienced with querying and exploring data within a NoSQL data platform (e.g. Hadoop/Hive)
- Postal or mailing industry experience

Compensation
$61,595.85 - $92,393.78
The pay range for this job is determined by various factors, including but not necessarily limited to location, responsibilities of the job, and alignment with market data. When determining a salary for this role, the following factors may be taken into consideration - contract-specific affordability, education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience. The estimate displayed represents the salary range for this position and is just one component of Cognosante’s total compensation package for employees.
