Data Analyst job description

Revenue Operations is responsible for driving financial success through creating, maintaining, and continually improving the operations, platforms and intelligence that support our go-to-market teams. This team works cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, and Finance, ensuring efficiency and accuracy throughout the customer journey, from lead generation to revenue recognition. Revenue Operations is a pivotal partner in helping our go-to-market teams achieve their revenue goals.

As a Data Analyst specializing in Sales and Customer Success at PitchBook, you will play a vital role in leveraging data to drive revenue growth, enhance customer satisfaction, and optimize operational efficiency. You will utilize data sourced from various repositories, including Snowflake as part of our Enterprise Data Platform (and associated data products), to construct insightful dashboards, reports, and analytic products tailored to address specific questions and uncover actionable insights. Your analytical skills and understanding of sales and customer success metrics will enable you to provide valuable visibility into performance metrics and KPIs, supporting data-driven decision-making processes.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis and Interpretation: Conduct analysis of sales and customer success data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for revenue optimization and customer retention. Translate complex datasets into understandable insights for stakeholders
  • Dashboard and Report Development: Design and develop dashboards, reports, and analytics products to track sales performance, customer engagement, and retention metrics. Ensure the accuracy and relevance of reporting tools to facilitate informed decision-making
  • Insight Generation and Reporting: Generate actionable insights from data analysis to support sales and customer success strategies. Ensure accuracy, relevance, and accessibility of reporting tools for end-users
  • Performance Monitoring and Analysis: Support the monitoring of sales pipelines, conversion rates, customer satisfaction scores, and other relevant KPIs. Conduct performance analysis and identify areas for improvement to optimize sales and customer success efforts
  • Data Governance and Quality Assurance: Ensure the integrity and quality of sales and customer success data by implementing data governance best practices. Conduct regular audits and validations to maintain data accuracy and consistency
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: Independently conduct discoveries with stakeholders, clearly establishing what impactful work needs to be done. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, customer success, product, and finance, to align data analysis efforts with business objectives. Independently communicate findings, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders effectively
  • Company Initiatives: Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested
Data Analyst job requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Business Analytics, or related field. Advanced degree preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in directly stakeholder-facing data analysis. Preferably in marketing intelligence, business intelligence, or other go-to-market team
  • 3+ years of experience developing dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets. Experience with Snowflake or similar data warehousing platforms is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and extract meaningful insights
  • Understanding of sales and customer success metrics, including pipeline analysis, churn rates, customer lifetime value (CLV), and Net Promoter Score (NPS)
  • Understanding of marketing concepts and metrics, including return-on-investment, conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and quality assurance
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities effectively
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel with the ability to pick up new systems and software easily

Compensation

  • Annual base salary: $60,675-$95,000
  • Target annual bonus percentage: 10%
  • Starting pay will be based on several factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be different ranges for candidates by location.

Working Conditions:

We believe our business and our culture are strongest when we work together in person. We also know that it’s helpful to have some flexibility to work remotely. Most roles work in the office 3+ days/week, and some are expected to work in the office 4-5 days/week. The current expectation for this role is that you are working in the office 3+ days/week and that you are in the office full-time during the training period, for which the length varies by role. During an initial phone screen, the team will discuss expectations for this specific position.

The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on-going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
