Data Analyst job description

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Develop, implement, and maintain leading-edge analytics systems, taking complicated problems and building simple frameworks
  • Identify trends and opportunities for growth through analysis of complex datasets
  • Evaluate organizational methods and provide source-to-target mappings and information-model specification documents for datasets
  • Create best-practice reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization
  • Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, and develop and maintain protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data
  • Work directly with managers and users to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships
  • Design and develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to effectively present data-driven insights and trends.
  • Analyze large and complex datasets using statistical techniques and data mining methods to identify patterns, correlations, and trends.
  • Perform data cleansing, validation, and quality assurance to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the analysis.
  • Conduct ad-hoc data analysis and generate actionable insights to support business decision-making and address specific inquiries.
  • Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data availability, accuracy, and integrity by defining data collection and transformation processes.
  • Develop and maintain data models, data dictionaries, and documentation to support data analysis and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and data-driven optimizations by monitoring and evaluating key metrics and performance indicators.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analysis and visualization
Data Analyst job requirements

Skills Required

  • Proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of data analysis techniques, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis from relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with data visualization tools and techniques, such as Tableau, Power BI, or Python libraries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and draw actionable insights.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and data mining techniques, such as regression analysis, clustering, and hypothesis testing.
  • Familiarity with data preparation and wrangling techniques, including data cleansing, transformation, and aggregation.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and manipulation.
  • Experience working with large datasets and using data querying languages or tools (e.g., SQL, Spark) is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with additional databases, such as ClickHouse and MongoDB, for handling diverse data storage needs.
  • Understanding of OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) concepts and experience with OLAP tools and technologies.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling and star schema design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and explain data insights to non-technical stakeholders
